A Basic Running Program

A very basic running program I give a lot of my clients to get them started.

The program:
To get started walk for the first 8- 10 minutes to warm your body up. BEFORE EVERY RUN. Then begin to run the below formula. When done with your run cool down with a 2-5 min walk and 5-10 min stretch. AFTER EVERY RUN. Cool down and warm up are very important.
1. Do this for 30 minutes the first day. The next day add 2 more minutes on run times and on total time. Continue this progression. You should run every other day up to 4 times a week. Increasing time and length ever day until you can run non stop. You might be able to do it sooner than the formula below, if so great job! WOOT!

Day one... run 5 walk 2 ...30 min ER
Day 2 ..... run 6 walk 2 .....31 min
Day 3 .....run 7 walk 2 .... 33 min ER
Day 4....run 8 ...walk 2 ....34 min
Day 5 ....run 9 walk 2......36 min
day 6....run 10 walk 1 .....38 min ER
day 7 ....run 11 walk 2..... 40 min
day 8....run 12 walk 1....42 min
day 9...run 14 walk 2 ....44 min ER
day 10 ....run 15 walk 1 .... min ER

(ER = Easy run. Go kinda slow)
Go at your own pace.
On non running days do some cross training like a spin class or bike riding is great.
This is a very basic program. Feel fee to change the times to suit what you need.
I would love to hear your progress.
Please post all your successes that you have had. It is really inspiring to others.

My first 1/2 Marathon

Thursday, April 15, 2010

WOO HOO!!
I did my first "officially" half marathon! 13.1 miles!!!
It was the GO! STL in St. Louis Mo.
My time was 2:10:56
I was hoping for 2:10:00 and praying nothing less than 2:30:00
So i met my goal!
IT was very exciting! SO many people it was crazy. @ 12,800 people!
I started at the 8.45 pace line. I KNOW I wasn't going to run that but my girlfriends were there and they said it was so packed in past that point there wasn't any place to stand. That was at 6:30. The race didn't start for 30 more min. By the time it started we were packed in there.
The started I kept up with the 8.45 pacers (BIG MISTAKE!) for a mile or so. Then I dawned on me....I can't keep this pace or i won't make it. SO as you could guess droves of people began to pass me. I was feeling so defeated. For the rest of the race droves of groups would pass me. One pace setter group at a time.
I realized after the 9.35 pace group passed me; close to the end of the race ; that I can't let the 9:45 pass me or I won't make my time. Well my legs said WE DON'T CARE =-) It really didn't matter what my legs said my heart said I'm not gonna give up or in!
I ran almost the entire time. I walked at the water stations to drink.
OK who ever says downtown STL is not hilly has never ran it! I don't know how they managed to make the race all hills and only 3 or 4 down hills but they did. It seemed as if as soon as I would get to the top of a hill I'd think "WOO HOO! Down hill here I come" Then we would turn directions into another hill. Very creative people. I hope to never meet them =-)
I took 2 GU packs at 6 mile and 9 mile markers. I should have took 1 more. I ran out of steam at the 11 mile marker. I was headed up the hill and I almost go to the top and I HAD to take 3 steps my HR was 183. I took three steps and noticed the water station. MAN! I wish I would have seen that 3 steps ago. Oh well.... keep pushing on!
YOU ARE GONNA FINISH THIS! YOU ARE GONNA FINISH THIS! YOU ARE GONNA FINISH THIS!
Last two miles girl... here we go. Only 2 miles, only 2 miles, only 2 miles. I kept telling my self. Well it has to be less than 2 miles now... how long have i told my self that... stop thinking ! RUN!
There it is ! Is that the finish line? I don't know. It has to be right? WRONG. Everyone is turning. Where is the finish line. It has to be close! I turn... no finish line. But I hear them announcing finishers. I am close. I turn again. THERE IT IS!!! The FINISH line! I haven't seen my family the entire race but the start. Where are they? I want to see them! Where are they. There is the finish line!!! I try to push more. I am almost there...."Tia" WERE ARE YOU???? "TIA!" I look to my right and there all I see is my husband! He is beaming with pride. HE LOVES ME no matter my time!
Last push... Arms up, smile, FINISH! I AM a half marathoner!
Now let me sit down!!! they won't let me sit. My legs start to tighten up fast. They are cramping. I can't stop, I get pushed threw this troth for at least 15 minutes. Where is my family? Well I don't get to see them for a little bit. I did get to sit down and reflect on my accomplishment for a while.
OK now the part that NO ONE TOLD ME NOT TO DO!
I went home straight home (20 minute car ride) and took an hour nap. When I went to get up I COULD BARLEY MOVE! I decided to sit down and prop my feet. I thought that would be best.
It wasn't! My husband said, "I think you deserve dinner out."
Well, I could barley move at this point. I began to walked with very stiff legs. My son said it looked like I had something stuck =P. That posture would stick with me for 3 days! Man a live did it stink!
So, I talk to my marathoner friends and they all said "NEVER rest to long or sit to long after a race. Try to keep moving for a few hours after the race." OK!!! GREAT ADVICE A LITTLE TO LATE =D They gave me great tips on every thing but never did they prepare me for after the race. Never did I think to even ask.
All in all it was a wonderful experience. It has inspired many of my family and friends to do a race and get better in shape. So well worth all it!
I am praising God that He helped me with all of it. The willingness to run it, the preparation it took to do it, and the will power it took to finish. I continuously prayed during the race for my body, my friends who were running and those whom seemed to need some help in the race.
It was a great experience.
Thanks for walking threw the journey with me.
TIA

A Time for Everything

A Time for Everything: If that isn't the truth.
One minute I think I've got it all together and in the right order then ... nope it all changes.
But I guess that is what makes life interesting and challenging.
TIA

A Time for Everything:
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

What does the worker gain from his toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.
That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God.
I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

Whatever is has already been,
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account. [a]

And I saw something else under the sun:
In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,
in the place of justice—wickedness was there.

I thought in my heart,
"God will bring to judgment
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time for every deed."

I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath ; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?"

So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

Ecclesiastes 3 (New International Version)

I am ALSORARE! Therefore I need to treat myself that way.
AL: Always...SO: Sometimes ... RARE: Rarely.
1 Always pick healthy foods (daily)
2 Sometimes eat out, have dessert, skip a work out.
3 Rarely eat junk food and dessert and never two days in a row.
4 I try to live by this simple rule and I am successful most of the time.
5. Write out an action plan!

Remember, I am free to choose my choices but I am not free to choose the consequence for my actions. We need to start looking at what we can eat and love to enjoy it! Not what we can’t . Focus is important. Just like Adam and Eve in the Garden. Eve focused on what she couldn’t have, not what she had.
POSITIVE!
Action Plan … Write it on on paper. I WILL DO THIS!
GOALS for success!
Then REWARD for success! Even if you are at 80%...20 % success you have had some sucess!

YOU CAN DO THIS!!

PRAYER is a necessity for life changing results
1 I am committed to God, my husband, kids, church and job….
2 Where am “I” if I am truly committed to all of those?
3 When I take care of myself then I show I am of value and set an example to follow.
4 I want them to live a long and healthy life.

* Romans 12:1-2 1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
* Luke 11:28 He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." That steps on my toes.
* Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his “cross” daily and follow me.
It’s not a bad thing say VICTORY in Jesus! When you walk away from something that was not healthy in you say “VICTORY IN JESUS!”
* 1 Corinthians 6:20 …you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. Are you honoring God with your body. It is not what we think of our body but what it can do for Christ. Our bodies are temporary.
Luke 9:24-25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?
Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

I ask God to change me. I truly meant it when I ask Him. When my husband and I taught a prayer class I wasn’t praying regularly. I ask God to wake me up in the morning to pray…and I haven’t used an alarm since. I am not kidding! I used one everyday until that point. He wakes me at the time He wants me up. I smile almost every time I look at the clock because it reminds me that my God is good and true God!

TRI-TIA =-)

Reason's Why I Don't Do Diet #5

Application is MY responsibility and yours!
God provides everything else. He gives us the ability to get the knowledge needed to get or keep us healthy. We have the FREE WILL to do with it what we wish.

“THE MAGIC PILL” There isn’t one! And there is no Magic diet.

God might call you to eat a certain way for a period of time. For example He might tell you not to eat sugar for X amount of weeks.
That just it, we have to listen to what GOD is telling us. Not what the world tells us what we should or shouldn’t do. I know you hear this in sermons about your walk. Well you walk also includes your body.

What works for you? Why did it work for you? Does it still working for you? What doesn't work for you? Why? Write it down.
I challenge you to hone in on one thing and pray fervently to have it fulfilled in your life. I know God has spoken to us all at one point or another about our health. HE had to He is our father. He wants the best for us. Write it down when God speaks to you, then look back at it.! Do it for a changed lifestyle.

YOU CAN DO THIS!
TIA

Reason's Why I Don't Do Diet #4

Monday, August 17, 2009

We must change our THINKING to change our lifestyle.

Do You Want To Get Well?
* John 5:4-9 (NIV) One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well?"
"Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me."
Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

o Jesus asked him, "Do you want to get well?"

I would say I want to eat better/exercise etc. But I didn’t have a real plan. Well…God said to me, "DO IT! STOP MAKING EXCUSES! Get up! Pick up your mat and walk! Be made well!"

WRITE IT DOWN! Many things I DON’T have control over. This I do.

It is MY responsibility to put His action into place. YES! It is hard and not fun sometimes but just like anything it all becomes habit and part of who you are.
We have freedom with all our choices. However, we can not choose our consequences for those choices.

You must apply the things God reveals to you! Writing them down will help you remember the things He has spoken to you about and it will help you become accountable.

Now PICK UP YOUR MAT AND WALK!
TIA

Reason's Why I Don't Do Diet #3

Friday, August 14, 2009

We need to learn how to make life choices.
• We have Rules for life such as driving, taxes, bills, work, and relationships. We need recognize we also have rules for our body and the health of it to run smoothly.
• With a pour diet we pretty much know what the consequences.
What are some things? Bloating, low energy, low sex drive, many health issues, and irritability.
o This is where God’s Grace comes in. We can always improve our circumstances. He is a God of second, third, millionth chances!

If you are starting a diet thinking, "I will only have to eat this way until I reach my goal” you have already failed before you began.

Think this is my lifestyle, can I do this? How can I make this work?
You will be successful if you have a game plan!

DO IT!
TIA

Reason's Why I Don't Do Diet

Tuesday, August 04, 2009

The next flew blogs I will be writing will focus on a few things I teach in seminar class I have taught called " I DON'T DO DIET"

Reason's Why I Don't Do Diet #1

Being on A Diet (B.A.D.) has sometimes great results but mostly not positive or rarely long term. The long term I’m sure is everyone’s goal, as it is mine. I’ve seen what Diet does! It kills. We all have or know someone who does Diets. Looking for anything that will help them loose the weight.

What are some negatives about being on a diet? … In General
1. Not being successful
2. Low energy
3. Causes lowered self extreme
4. Feelings of failure causing you stop all healthy activity.
5. Feeling helplessness that you will never be able to get healthy or lose weight
6. Health problems because you are not eating enough or to much of something you shouldn’t eat.
7. Low energy
8. It boils down to not being very productive for a long life of living.

We have to get our minds thinking straight. Being on a diet is not for a life time of living!
We need to learn how to make life choices.

Let's get serious about a way of life.
More to follow =-)
TIA

Reason's Why I Don't Do Diet #2

Monday, August 10, 2009

Look at the obvious things that we might need to be reminded of.
• God wants me to take care of myself and He wants to help me in doing that.
• We need to draw on His strength if we wish to have continued success.
• God gave us this body we should not to waste it!
• HE knows what is best for us. ....Yes. You as a person.
o We are all individuals therefore we all need to ask God what He wants for US. God is the ONLY one who can know what is best for you. We might fall into a similar group with other people but we are all vastly different. Talk to your Maker and ask Him what you are, aren't suppose to do, eat, and not eat. He knows!
o That is why we have to seek Him and ask Him what we should do “today”. Everyday.

TIA

What I Learned Today at the Water Park!

Saturday, July 25, 2009

What I learned today at the water park.
1. Even really skinny people have cottage cheese legs
(this is a bad thought but...that makes me feel better =P)
2. I am not fat.
3. A lot of people have tattoos. A lot! And some in interesting places. =O
4. Some people SHOULD NOT wear 2 piece swim suit! Myself included.
5. My daughter has a body like a rock star. She is only 10 (turning 11 in Aug. She would want me to tell you that. LOL) MAN A LIVE WE ARE IN TROUBLE!
5. My husbands weight loss and strength training is paying off. He's a hottie!
6. You can not find HEALTHY food at SIX FLAGS! Or on they way home.
7. I will see things I don't want to see =P And I hope to forget LOL!
8. A lot of people;men, women, and children a like; are self conscious. Including myself.

I was amazed at how some people carried them self.
It was interesting to see if a women was walking with a man they seemed to be more sub conscious. If it was a group of women or girls were together they seems not care as much. But if a man or boys were walking by themselves they seemed to be self conscious. I found that very interesting and just wanted to share.
Mind you I didn't talk to any of these people so I could be completely wrong =) But that is how it played out in my mind.

All in all I enjoyed people watching an getting an education.
I love people of all sizes but I must say I love to watch a heavy women strut. Good or bad I am proud of her for loving who she is that day. (sorry if that offends someone~ not intended)

HAVE A GREAT DAY . I know I did.
TIA

TIA's 1st Triathlon :)

Sunday, June 14, 2009

We headed for the Triathlon the night before. It was a 3 hour drive to get to the Triathlon. My hips and knees don’t do well in car rides. This time was no different. Our son and his girlfriend came to cheer us on.
We went to picked up our packet of info and ate at 7:30pm I always eat by 6. I was starving! We then drove the bike course. I was so confused. It was not an easy course to follow. They had road markings but not at some critical points. I began to get concerned. Then we looked at the run course yet another confusing course.

Side Note: There was a lot of turn a round points in the race. I can’t stand turn a rounds. They slow me down so much I can’t keep my rhythm very well. OK so I’ll chalk that one down to inexperience and lack of training.

My husband assured me that I wouldn’t get lost but if it made me feel good that I could take the map but that he was sure I wouldn’t need it. So, I didn’t take that map. Well… he was correct I didn’t need it. There were a lot of helpers on the course and I was in the middle of the pack. More about my ride later…

Triathlon started at 7:45 with a gun shot that made me head to the bathroom because I had to pee (TMI? LOL) It was so loud everyone jumped. Even after being warned it was coming and after hearing it go off for the Biathlons.

The swim was a staggered start. I got in the 9-10 min line. I warned everyone around me that was a great possibility that I might hit them in the pool if I have to pass them and I apologized a head of time. They all assured me not to be concerned.

WELL… I jumped in the pool OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I screamed. Our son said many people found it humorous. NOT ME! The water was ridiculously cold. They just filled the outdoor pool 1 week earlier and it rained two days strait. At best the water was 60 degrees. It shocked my whole system. I couldn’t breath! I began to panic! It was awful. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I was horrified. All this training all the preparation and I can’t breath to swim. I stood up 3 or four times so much that that the swimmer behind me has caught up. I look at her and said, “I am panicking” she said, “Breath, you can do it” (I LOVE HER! Don’t know her, but love her!) I tried again and again and again. Now I am at 100 meters. I stop let her go and take a deep breath. In I go. I am headed to the next 50 meters. I am getting used to the pool’s chill. I can do this. I can do this, I can do this! Quickly I realize I can’t!  I swim anyway. Lord, help me do this! Guess what He was waiting, I should have asked earlier. Just as if I lost 100lbs right then and there. I began to feel what was going on. I found my rhythm. I passed one person, then another and another and yet anther! THANK you Lord, thank you Lord.
Most of all thank you Lord for getting “me” out of my head.

Unfortunately, I clobbered every one of those poor people on the way. Every time I hit someone I would stop, turn around and apologized to them then swim on. This happen 4 times. I bet I wasted a minute or more doing this. Our son took pictures of me passing then stopping and apologizing. FUNNY! Chalk that on up to being a newbie.

I get to the end 400 meters 10 minutes, even with all my mistakes. I got a big smile! I’m headed to T1.

Long run to T1 but not a bad time for my first transition. The fastest T1 time was .54 seconds. Off I go on the bike. I am loving it and smiling big. I cheered everyone I seen. Everyone. I was so excited and proud of everyone. I thanked all the volunteers, police officers, and spectators as I passed. I was so in the moment! I get to the point where the hills are coming. I smile big cuz’ I know I am strong on the hills. I am good at the hills. I can’t wait to do the hills. I pass 3 people while encouraging and cheering them. I grab my water bottle take a few big drinks, smile and look at the hill a head and say, “Bring it.”

OK a little cocky God reminds me when I drop my water bottle and have to head back to get it. Passing the wrong way to retrieve my water bottle, I smile at all those whom I have just passed and say, “Everything happens for a reason.” I knew someone was praying for me that very moment! Cuz’ I would have gotten mad at myself and discouraged but I didn’t. I got my water bottle and headed back up the hill. Again, I saying “bring it.” Cuz’ I know Who is on my side.

I get to the half way point, around 7 miles, and eat some beans I had taped to my bike. Take that off made my number slide down and start scratching my legs. I am ready to pull my number off my bike. It is so irritated. I remember I have tape on my beans. Yes. I tape my number and I don’t think about it again. YES!

I finish strong racing to the end with 3 other cyclist all women. We feed off each other, cheering each other to go harder faster. It is so exhilarating! I am really pushing it.
Then the down hill comes. I get so scared at down hills. I grab my breaks the ladies yell and I get disappointed in myself for not trusting that I won’t fall because now I have a steep hill to climb to the 2nd transition area, T2.

I look up there is my husband, Joe. He is on the run and he looks good. I am encouraged to see him. I cheer him on, I am so proud of him. I suck it up and push up the hill and see my son and his girlfriend there to cheer me on. I push a little harder and give a loud yell out. He gives one back  He loves me. Love is strong. I push up that hill to T2.

T2 went much faster, great time. During T2 a women asked what way we should go. I point and run this way. I hear my son yell, “NO, the other way.” I correct myself and start running the other way. I start to run down the hill. Again I hate down hills. The lady is running with me know. She says, “I am 38 years old and have 3 kids. How old are you?” I reply, “ I’m 37.” She say,“ High Five” I give it! She continues, “Look at us 3 kids later and look how good we look.” I giggle. I don’t have 3 kids I have 2 but all the same. WE continue to run together for a few more yards.

WHAT! I forgot my number. I panic! I ask the lady running with me, “I forgot my number will they disqualify me?” She says don’t worry about it. Yeah right. I do, a lot. I don’t stop thinking about it. I ask every volunteer I see. The same thing I asked her. No one knew the answer.

Up the step hill we go to a turn about. I get to the top pushing it all the way up. I look at my heart rate. This has to come down or I won’t finish. It did after taking 3 steps. I smiled, started to run and knew I would finish!

“Water?” I hear. I reach my hand out, of course I don’t stop running and you guessed it I choked. I forgot, walk and drink. No biggie I think, just keep moving. I keep moving and cheering everyone I see. I would say…’ This is it.~ You can do it.~ You’re doing great. Keep it up.~ Get after it~ Your at the end.”

I start down the hill turn and yep you guessed it. What goes down must come up. I see a big hill. I think no big deal I am good on hills. Then I realize maybe not after I swam and biked a few miles. I should have eaten some GU! Oh well, push on the first mile is always the hardest I think.

I see the first mile marker. YES, time to pick up my pace. But wait, what in the world am I running on? Grass and gravel? What I have more hills to go up? I am trying to get a faster pace. I pass one person. That made me feel good, but I just didn’t have the energy to run my pace. I just ran and cheered. I thought one foot in fort of the other and I am NOT going to stop. If I can’t do pace then I will just do!

I’m still asking every volunteer if I am going to be disqualified. Finally I get an decent answer around mile 1.5 from a volunteer. She says “ I don’t know but you have your number on your arm and your chip on your leg. Don’t worry about it.” Okay I say. I still think about it a few more times. What if…

I push back tears. It is all becoming so real, I am about to be a triathlete or am I? Tia don’t think run! I see a few people a head of me walking. Cheer them on. I say “We are almost done. Push it!” I run and think about what I just said to the other athletes. I am abut done. Push it!

I came around the corner the finishing hill. Where are they, where are they, where are they? I don’t see them. I pray my husband is okay. I know he has to be done. Lord let Joe be okay. I see people with signs clapping and cheering me on. They don’t know me but they are proud of me just the same. I know Joe is okay. Just run to the finish line, Tia. They will be at the top of the hill. I cheer all the volunteers and supporters.

There is love at the top of the hill! Get there! Go faster, faster, faster. I see them! They are waiting for me. I see them! I hear them! LOVE ~ PUSH IT! I push it! LOVE at the end! My husband is there he finished. He is a triathlete. I am proud of him. My son… Angie! I run hard. I cross the finish line, I am a triathlete. We are triathlete! We did this, together. God is good!
Hugs all around! They are all proud of me, I am proud of me and them. I feel the love. I am loved. I AM A TRIATHALETE!

DO you want it?

A man who wants something will find a way;
a man who doesn't will find and excuse.
Stephan Dolley Jr.

At what cost do you want to be thin?

SO at what cost do I want to be thin?
If I eat less calories then I am weak and don't' have any energy.
If I don't do Strength training I am weak and don't' have any energy.
If i just starve myself I am weak and don't' have any energy.
If I work out and starve myself I am weak and don't' have any energy.
I have tried all these scenarios and the ONLY thing that makes sense is that my body weight is what God has designed my body to be at.

I personally have lost inches. My body is seeing great changes. However, I have not lost a great deal of weight. My lean body mass has went up and my fat has went down. My fat weight has turned into muscle. I tell you that and yet I want that scale to say I lost weight.
My husband keeps reminding me that it is not the weight that should be my concern but the shape of my body.
I know I am a few pants sizes smaller but I want to WEIGH LESS.
But the question for me is, "Tia do you want to be strong and lean rather than skinny and weak?"

I keep my calorie count around 1300-1500 I am 5'7.5" and weigh in a range of 136-138. YET i want to weigh 125. WHY? Is is society telling me that? NO! It is ME telling me that I should be at the weight I was before my 2nd child.
HOWEVER..I have come to a realization (with the help of my husband after years of telling me) ...I had a baby. My body shouldn't be the same as it was 2 children ago.
He is right! Our bodies are different and we should respect that.
THIS is what I have been practicing lately...
I will stop stressing over the scale
I will look at how physical I am.
I will look at all things I have accomplishment in a day
I will look at all the TV I have not watched
I will look at the positive influences I have in others lives
I will give praise to God!

Get off the scale and think, "At what cost do I want to be thin?"
TIA

ALSORARE

Stands for : ALWAYS , Sometime, and Rarely
Always:
1 Read your Bible.
2 Pray before you eat. Even if you are snacking pray!
3 Commit yourself to being aware of when you’re full and stopping.
4 Ask the Holy Spirit to allow you to know when you are done, how much to eat, also to make it clear and give you strength when to stop eating
5 When you eat sit and don’t stand. You will eat less.
6 DRINK WATER WATER WATER WATER at least 64 oz.

7 Go threw your pantry and pre-pick what you can eat then you’ll be less likely to make bad choices.
8 Try to stay away from soda and sugar drinks. Worthless calories! For every soda or caffeine you drink you must drink 2 glass of water.
9 No eating after 7/7:30 (NEVER past 8pm)

10 Work out! Stay committed to exercise. Do not give up or in. God will bless your body. Pick up your mat and walk!

11 Walk, bike ride with your kids & family. If you need exercise so do they. \

12 Choose to eat healthy
Have healthy food on hand
Meat or main dish should be the size and depth a women’s palm
Side dish: 1 helping no bigger than your fist ideally ½ the size of it
Eat a lot of fruit & veggies, without the butter and sweet stuff on it
Wheat (I must have fibber)
Oatmeal is good with “flushing” bad things out of my system as well as raisins.
Skin less chicken, Boca, Veggie lean, lean hamburger meat, turkey, steaks, and fish of all kinds
Eat nuts, Almonds are great and go with just about everything.

13 Limit TV. You burn more calories staring at a wall than watching TV.
14 Don’t give into laziness!!! It is tool of the devil.
15 MOVE!

SOMETIMES
Park at the end of the parking lot
Fish must be in your diet for a heart healthy. (Try a few times a week)
Take very long walks or go for a bike ride.
Get a massage.
Work out with weights a 2-3x's a times a week
Do nothing. Have a day of relaxation. Read a book or just relax.
If you eat out don’t buy the dinner buy a side item (ala cart), share a meal, or go for the “lite” menu items.

RARELY:
1 Once a week take a day off
2 Have a small desert.
3 Eat foods high in fat
4 Have ice cream
5 Have a cappuccino.
6 Go to a great restaurant and have something you love. Don’t deprive yourself but don’t “Pig Out”. When you eat too much it stretches your stomach and causes you to need more food to feel full the next time you eat.

ALWAYS Enjoy life!

Don’t think about it! Just do it! It’s worth it! When I think about it I don’t do it. I cannot give into Laziness. Laziness is a tool of the devil, and we are not going to let him win. We will choose Christ.

It is not about the body shape. I gained 5 lbs when I stared to use weights, but I lose inches. You should always measure in inches before weighting yourself.

START A NEW

It doesn't have to be a new year to start anew healthy way of living.
If you don't accomplish your goal for the day or if you "mess up" don't forget you can start a new start the very next minute. Don't wait until the next day start it that day.
We all have choices. Choose the right choice.

Stop eating fast so you don't have to think about how much your eating our what you are eating.

Stop saying I don't have time. Make the time your health and quality living depends on it.

Stop ignoring what you know to be true. Lying to yourself to allow you to do or not do what your suppose to do is just that a lie. Open your eyes to see it for what it is. If you don't you can not change.

Start being positive. Listen to how you talk and what your thoughts and reactions are. Try to turn them into a positive. Focus on that and you will begin to accomplish more more!

It is never to late to start a new.

LAZINESS is a tool of the devil!

LAZINESS is a tool of the devil!
1 When I go to bed I pray Lord help me to get enough rest and wake me up early so I can pray and get my work out in.
2 I pray not to be idle or lazy –refer back to the prayer
3 Make a way that I will have No excuses

BODY PRESERVATION is a must for a healthy body and long life.
• AM Exercise/work out/ physical movement Daily is a must! Can take one day or 2 daysa off a week. If I take more than that off I start to fall back into laziness.
• Variety & Moderation
• My family are not annoying after I’ve work out. They are a lot more loveable.
1 Yes I have to do it! I use to hate it. I just had to find something I didn’t hate.
2 I don’t want to become a hindrance. I want to be helper. God has something for me to do.… EXPLAIN next blog
BODY PRESERVATION is a must!

TEMPTATION can be overcome it has been proved.

TEMPTATION can be overcome it has been proved.

I know I can’t have only one of my moms chocolate chips cookies or her one piece of her strawberry shortcake. I definitely cannot have it in my house! FACT!

He has revealed to me what temps me and what to stay a way from. God can take the desire away! He has for me. Buffets for example are the devil’s temptation playground for me. He sits and cheers EAT EAT EAT I have prayed about it. Now I am discussed with them.

* 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. It is hard to believe but it is true. God says it is true . Claim your promises. That is why they are their. Lord I want that. I don’t want to work out. That is tempting me. Help me. Do you think that HE is going to say “NO, I am not gong to help you with this problem.
Hebrews 2:18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Pray not to be able to handel the temptation.

FOOD is a Must for Energy

FOOD is a must for energy.
1 I cannot deny myself of food I just give myself guidelines.
2 Variety & Moderation
3 ALSORARE: Always Sometimes and Rarely
1. Sinful eating leads to disease and early death in some instances. I am sure you all know a few people who have died from the effects of obesity.
2. Guilt time, sin can lead me to over eat
3. The definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. That was me hoping that the jeans wouldn’t be tight this year that the next time I looked at my butt it wouldn’t have cottage cheese with saddle bags.
4. NOTHING wrong with having a treat! Can not have dessert every day or two days in a row
5. I need to remember food is Energy
6. Breakfast important
7. Balanced eating
8. Vitamins

Ask myself before I eat :
1. Am I hungry if not what can i do BESIDES eat.
2. If I am hungry what is the best food choice to fuel my body

PRAYER is a necessity for life changing results!

PRAYER is a necessity for life changing results!
1 I am committed to God, my husband, kids, church and job.
2 Where am “I” if I am truly committed to my family?
3 When I take care of myself then I show my daughter/ family that I am of value and set an example to follow.
o I want them to live long and healthy.
4 I ask God to change me. I truly meant it when I ask Him. Share experience with teaching the prayer class. Share prayer: I ask God to me up wake in the am to pray…and I haven’t used an alarm since.
Step on toes * Luke 11:28 He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."
* Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his “cross” daily and follow me.
Not a bad thing say VICTORY in Jesus!
* 1 Corinthians 6:20 …you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. Are you honoring God with your body. It is not what we think of the body but what it can do for Christ. Our bodies are temporary. But what we can do with our bodies is what is important.

WISDOM is a Must for Success

WISDOM is a must for success.

God speaks to us in 7 ways
Jesus

Holy Spirit

2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT) All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 (NLT) Young man, it's wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. So banish grief and pain, but remember that youth, with a whole life before it, still faces the threat of meaninglessness. Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me,Proverbs 4:11-12 I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble.
1 I choose to walk in Wisdom not in ignorance
2 I examine labels. I keep a folder filled with exercise tips and healthy food choices.
3 I will eat consciously!
4 I’ll be a woman of integrity. My husband is a very integrative man and I try to follow his example.
5 Respect my body and take care of it. Feel it is of value.

Application is my responsibility!

Application is my responsibility.
God provides everything else. He gives us the ability to get the knowledge needed to get or keep us healthy. We have FREE WILL to do what we wish.
I am sure that most us know what we should and shouldn’t eat.
“X’ amount of this and that.
I couldn’t make it fit in my life style.
I failed.
I need help.
Then with much prayer and continuing pray I have found the answer

There is a method I do I call it ALSORARE.
I stands for Always, Sometimes, Rarely.
Every time I make a decisions I use the ALSORARE pill to help with food choices and health choices.
Because we are All So rare. I ask myself the question is this an Always, Sometimes,or Rarely?
1 Always pick healthy foods (daily)
2 Sometimes eat out.
3 Rarely eat junk food and dessert and never two days in a row
4 I try to live by this simple rule and I am successful most of the time.
5 I am free to choose my choices but I am not free to choose the consequence for my actions.

Let's Get Healthy!

Do You want to "Get Well?"

DO You want to "Get Well?"

1 Jesus asked him, "Do you want to get well?"
o I would say I want to eat better/exercise etc. But I didn’t do anything about it. Well…I finally said
o DO IT! STOP MAKING EXCUSES! Get up! Pick up your mat and walk. Be made well
Many things I DON’T have control over. This I do. It is hard and not fun sometimes. But if I want to "get well" and stay well I must apply the things God reveals to you!

I challenged you to hone in on one thing and pray fervently to have it fulfilled in your life. For a changed lifestyle. Write it down when God speaks to you!

NOW GO BE MADE WELL! IN JESUS NAME!

We might need to be reminded of.

The obvious things today that we might need to be reminded of.
1 God wants me to take care of myself and He wants to help me do that.
We need to draw on His strength if we wish to have continued success.
2 We have Rules for life such as driving, taxes, bills, work, and relationships. We need recognize we also have rules for our body and the health of it.
3 We have freedom with all our choices.
4 However, we can not choose our consequences.
5 We can always improve, as long as we seek and try to.
6 We must change our thinking to change our lifestyle.

Start today!

I DON’T DO DIET

The next few weeks I am going to focus on my mind set of I DON’T DO DIET.
I’ve seen what Diet does to Myself, family member, friends, and well.. everyone to attempts and fails.
We all have someone we know who has or does Diets.
Sometimes with great temporary results but mostly not positive or rarely long term results.
The long term is what my goal is.

Let's look at the negative of Diets. We aren't going to look at any specific diet just in general.
1 Not being successful causes lowered self extreme.
2 Feeling of failure then you to stop all healthy activity.
3 Health problems.
4 Not a very productive or long life.
5 There is NO magic diet!
